Sara-Jane

After a career in nursing and the Army Sara-Jane gained a degree in Art History and Museum Studies at Lancaster University. She applied for and was accepted on the Royal School of Needlework Future Tutor Programme at Hampton Court Palace. Still leading a peripatetic lifestyle, she has collected many experiences and influences. She is drawn towards ethnic and eclectic textiles.

Sara-Jane has worked on an evening gown designed by Nicholas Oakwell for the Great Britain Campaign, Magna Carta: An Embroidery designed by Cornelia Parker for the 900th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta, the Game of Thrones Hardhome Embroidery and for Burberry: A Celebration of Methods, Materials and Makers.

Along with classes at Hampton Court Palace, she has taught at the Victoria and Albert Museum and The British Library. She is currently volunteering for Combat Stress and SSAFA.

Sara-Jane will be running the embroidery workshop at our event on the 23rd of February 2017.
